You’re an idiot.
Yes, you.
Step away from that AI copy you are producing for your website, for articles and, especially for your ‘thought leadership’ content.
AI copy has become the new keyword stuffing. And It’s likely your website will soon take a hit.
Put simply, if you are using AI to create words for your business’s website then you may be committing commercial suicide.
You may also have learnt absolutely nothing from the history of search.
As the use of AI increases, so it is becoming ever easier to spot its stilted style, odd syntax and overuse of certain terms.
That’s if you are human.
If you are an AI (not that I am saying you are), then it is stunningly simple.
There are already dozens of AI-checkers, utilised by teachers, agencies and clients alike.
Search engines already employ AIs. You only need to do a Google search to see that in action.
But this also means that search engines crawling your pages know when you have used AI.
Google is already penalising some AI content, as detailed in its March 2024 blog post.
Its algorithms already reward quality content, with poor quality AI content downgraded.
Search engines could soon disallow AI-written content all together.
One hallucination or grammar mis-step from a Large Language Model (LLM) and you are out.
Your business could be de-listed.
I have worked with de-listed businesses before, whose sites were made all but worthless when the search algorithms started punishing keyword stuffing. It isn’t pretty.
Google kicked them off. Zero new business. Zero search results.
So, if you are thinking of using AI content for your copy, then maybe think again.
It’s going to save you a fortune in the long run.
