Copywriting
I create engaging copy that the world wants to read. To the end.
Several clients tell me that my pages are the most visited on their websites. I am also adept at creating shareable copy and articles that act as PR for clients.
I have been writing professionally for over 20 years and have produced copy for a client list that features blue chip companies, small businesses, media giants, quangos, charities, PR companies, political campaigners, online startups, galleries, troublemakers, artists and individuals.
I am a firm believer in good writing over formulae and web trickery. Although I write about AI, I won’t be using it in your copy.
My background is in journalism, but I have also written two books for major publishers and contributed to a dozen more. I am a highly-skilled interviewer and feature writer, but I also ghostwrite for CEOs, create brand tone of voice, write SEO web copy, create UX journeys and write blogs, as well as producing reports, white papers, sales and campaign emails.
I have produced briefing papers for Government ministers, entire websites for large brands and shadow articles for press campaigns. I have also written important key notes, influenced policy and used my words to make meetings happen for my clients with Ministers, business targets and potential stakeholders.
My clients include (links resolve to examples of work): NESTA, Arts & Humanities Research Council, Rated People, Channel 4, Open Data Institute, Amazon, Food Foundation, ThoughtLDR, Transport for London, Amazon, Airbnb, Hays, Freuds, LastMinute.com, Virgin Trains, Checkatrade, JLL, Edenspiekermann, Red Bull, Humanade, Xpat Jobs, Child Poverty Action Group, Debt Hacker (whole website and UX, as well as case studies) Focus Ireland, HSBC and Cathay Pacific.
“It’s clean its lean and it does exactly what I want it to do. You’ve brought my idea to life, beautifully. I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work.”
Michelle Grahame, Director, Virtually Working
I have also written for the Guardian, the Times, Sunday Times, Observer, Financial Times, Dwell, Telegraph SME Home, Daily Telegraph and many more UK newspapers and magazines.
I specialise in writing about the arts, data, AI, LLMs, architecture and property, construction, human nature, history, people, food, health, the world of work and business. I pick up subjects fast: how else would I have written that expert copy on traditional Swiss roofing techniques?
