I am an expert on brand history and have worked a good deal on history projects across the UK, not least in my role as Director of London-based social history CIC Rendezvous Projects. My work on the histories of brands and businesses digs into the heritage and founding stories of organisations in order to draw upon their past while looking to the future.

A solid brand history can establish the importance of a brand’s place in popular history, cultural life and even the heart of a nation. The work I did for the re-opening of the Dreamland theme park did all of this, creating a flexible timeline that could be used in publicity materials, for a relaunched website and to allow media to pick up on specific stories over the years.

Such corporate histories ensure that a business has a constant source of stories, as well as something to enthuse staff, customers and media about the brand.

As well as creating complete brand histories, I have been hired to voice/ghost-write a CEO’s history at an organisation, pick out specific stories or items from a business’s past or delve into archives to create something new from the past. Looking at the past of a company can often help to unblock the creative process for a business and enable it to look to the future in new ways.
